Get ready for a Winter to Remember!

GET READY TO ENJOY WINTER IN CAPE TOWN

Winter is by far my favourite time of year in Cape Town. There is something magical about the cooler season – the air is fresher, the scenery is brighter and I have a constant urge to get out there and enjoy the spectacular winter days that come about once the season gets underway. This year, my winter to-do list includes a trip out to Ceres to see the snow, a drive to the Winelands to enjoy a festival or two, enjoying the Cape Town Winter Restaurant Specials and maybe even trying another shark cage diving adventure to enjoy the excellent visibility in our beautiful ocean. Wondering how to spend your winter in Cape Town? We show you how to bring on the winter wins this June, with a huge range of things to see and do this month. We are also running a sizzling competition from 15 June to 15 November that could see you enjoying a spectacular experience at Alluvia in the heart of the Cape Winelands.

WINTER HIKING : EXPLORING THE GREAT OUTDOORS

You may think that winters are not the best time to head outdoors, but with the mild Cape climate bringing plenty of warm days, this time of year is perfect for getting back to nature. The scenery to be found across the peninsula is at its most glorious in winter too, with verdant landscapes, endless expanses of sky plus a myriad hiking and walking trails to explore. Get those walking shoes on, recharge your camera and set forth into the lush forests, nature reserves and woodlands of Cape Town that are waiting to be discovered.
